Queensbury sits south-west of Edgware in HA8, running down towards Kingsbury and touching the NW9 edge. It was laid out between the wars as a planned grid, which is unusual for this part of London and genuinely useful for us. Street after street of the same interwar semi, built to the same handful of plans, with the same room sizes and the same awkward corner in the same place. Weekly housework here is £22 per cleaner per hour and fortnightly £24, the same as everywhere on the round.
A grid of near-identical houses makes quoting easy

The minimum charge, and how people get round it
There is a £67 floor on one off work. On a single bedroom carpet at £36 that floor bites, so households here usually do two upstairs bedrooms and a flight of stairs together and end up at £113 for three areas rather than £67 for one. Same van, same set-up time, same drive over, which is precisely why the floor exists. Hourly work is exempt from it entirely, which is why a two hour weekly visit really does bill at £44.
Front drives, and the gravel ones
Most Queensbury houses turned the front garden into a drive at some point, so parking is straightforward and the van sits off the road. Gravel is the thing to watch. Hose lines drag stones about and stones end up in the hall carpet we have just cleaned, so the line runs along the boundary rather than straight across the drive. Nothing about that changes the price. It is simply the difference between a job done properly and a job done quickly.
Hard water and the first visit
Bathrooms here scale up on the same 250 to 350 ppm supply the whole area shares. If a shower screen has gone properly cloudy it is a job in its own right rather than ten minutes of a normal visit, so on a first clean we would rather spend the hour there and leave the dusting until the following week than do both badly. Queensbury borders Burnt Oak to the east and runs on towards Kingsbury and the NW9 edge at Colindale on the other side, and the prices are identical across all of it with nothing added for travel. Queensbury station is on the Jubilee line, one stop down from Canons Park, which is why those two often sit in the same day.
